The four week man, back on four weeks.

A barber shop runs on a cycle you could almost set a calendar by, which is exactly why a man who has drifted to seven weeks has usually been somewhere else. Customers tap the sign by the chair, their card sits in Apple or Google Wallet, and the eighth cut is on you.

First month free. Then £39 a month. No contract. Cancel anytime.

Walk ins mean there is nothing to book into

There is no diary to plug into and nothing to integrate. The tag sits by the chair and works on its own, whether the man walked in off the street or texts you every month.

A cut is not a big enough ticket to give away

Eight stamps is roughly a 12% discount, paid only to the men who came eight times. Two extra cuts a week covers the £39, and the dashboard tells you whether you got them.

You know the faces, not the gaps

You would recognise every regular in the street, and still not notice that the Thursday four weeker quietly became a six weeker. The drift list notices for you, while he is still deciding.

Every barber shop on the high street cuts hair. TapReward tells you which of your regulars stopped coming in for it.

See the midweek dead hours the weekend hides.

The weekend fills itself and Tuesday afternoon does not. The dashboard shows which regulars are one cut from a reward, so a single nudge puts men in the chair on the afternoons that would otherwise sit empty.

How long does the first visit take?
About 15 seconds on their own phone - one email address, no account, no password. Every visit after is one tap.
Do customers need an app?
No. The card goes into the Wallet app already on their phone.
What do staff have to do?
Nothing during a visit. To redeem a reward, a four letter code on any phone or tablet signed in to your dashboard. About five seconds.
What if a tap does not work?
Serve the customer and sort the stamp out afterwards. They can tap on the way out, or you can add it from your dashboard. No queue waits on us.
What happens if I cancel?
Nothing gets deleted. Customers keep their cards and you keep your list.

17.5% more

  • A two year study of a retail rewards programme found customers spent 17.5% more per week in the four weeks after they redeemed a reward. The free cut is not the cost of the scheme. It is the part that pays. Taylor & Neslin, Journal of Retailing, 2005
